Sound Place Memory (2018–present) is a text that lists every sound that came up in conversation during three site-specific workshops created with support from CAG Vancouver, Artscape Gibraltar Point, and Tiny Tiny Cozy Fest. The workshops included collective reading, field recording, and listening sessions. Through these activities participants discussed relationships between sound and place, how sound memories are carried in our bodies as we migrate, and how these memories shape racialized, gendered, and anthropocentric spaces in a context of setter colonialism. The text has had a life as an artist book, a letterpress edition, and an installation at Justina M. Barnicke Gallery Toronto.
